The Zion School Musical, It’s Cool in the Furnace, is this week!
There are two performances: Friday, April 23rd at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. Students need to attend BOTH performances, but we are asking families to sign-up to attend a particular performance with any extended family so that we know how many to plan for each day. The performances will be outdoors like the auction was this last weekend. A separate email will be sent out with a Google Form for families to reserve seats for one of the performances. A link to the form will also be provided with the email version of this newsletter. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Some
students still need to bring their costume t-shirts and sandals in to school.
(They were due on Friday.) A note was
sent home a few weeks ago with details on needed costume basics for students in
grades K-8. Students will need a solid color oversized t-shirt with no
patterns or printing on it. The t-shirt should reach down to (or past) their
knees. Any color will do, but bright colors will look better. The students
should also have sandals or flip-flops to wear. These can be any color or style
as well, but avoid ones with flowers or decorations glued to them, if possible.
We will provide cloth sashes for the students.
Chapel Service
School families are invited to join us for our morning school chapel service this week Wednesday, April 21st at 8:05 a.m. Parents, family and friends are welcome! Parents attending chapel are asked to park in the circle drive (Cole Road entrance) and enter through door “D”.
Zion Track Season
We are continuing open practices for school track on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday April 19th. 20th, and 22nd from 3-4:30 p.m. Practices will be held outside. Due to Covid testing requirements, the Board of Education has determined that we will not be participating in the area WELS school track meet at HVL. We will still take Friday, May 7th as a day off of school as scheduled. We are planning an in-house field day in place of the HVL meet sometime in early May. Track practice is open to both girls and boys, grades 3-8.
Thank you to all those who helped put the Zion CEA
Auction together, as well as those who generously bid on our items!
Sunday was a beautiful
day for our outdoor auction. Receipts are still coming in, but we raised close
to $13,000 for Zion CEA. Thank you, both workers and participants, for being a
blessing to us! Special thanks to Amy Vanisacker and Liz Seibert for their planning
and coordination.
