The gates open at 9:00 a.m. and the game begins at 11:05 a.m. There will be some educational activities going on around the park prior to the game. Students are asked to wear either their “SOAR” school shirts, ZLS gear or if they wish, they can wear Mud Hens gear. It is expected to be cool and possibly rainy, so please dress for the weather! Please note that no food is allowed to be brought in from outside of the park. Our seats are behind the Mud Hens dugout, section 106.

PARENTS ARE ASKED TO PLEASE COME IN TO THE SCHOOL BUILDING ON MONDAY BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL TO COLLECT THEIR FAMILY’S TICKETS IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.

Zion Pinewood Derby Summer Invitational

We are kicking off the summer with another Pinewood Derby Day! We have a brand new aluminum track and electronic start and finish gates that we are excited to try out, graciously donated by several Zion member race fans!

Never participated in a pinewood derby? We would love to have your family join the fun.

We again have car kits available for $5 each, and will have a workshop day in the Schneck's garage for those needing tools to cut out and shape their cars. We are also allowing cars that have raced in previous derbies for this competition! If you don't have time to make a new car, dust off that previous winner, soup it up, and bring it to the derby race on May 16! If you want to recheck weight or have a few repairs to do, bring it by for a pre-race inspection to the workshop on May 9.

We will also need volunteers to serve as race officials and hosts. Please contact Bryan Schneck if you have any questions, wish to purchase car kits, or are able to help out on race day.

Let's Go Racing!
