Special Presenter from River Raisin Battlefield Park will talk about Native American wampum craft
while we make our own wampum belts at 9 a.m.

Each day of Spirit Week will start with a chapel devotion together as a school at 8:05 a.m. Parents and families are welcome to attend.
There will be no school classes on Monday, March 9.
Penny Drive for St. Jude’s Children' s Research Hospital February 23 - March 7
Our classrooms will enjoy a little friendly competition with a penny drive to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital leading up to ZLS Week. This drive has a bit of a twist - every PENNY counts TOWARDS the classroom’s goal, but silver coins - nickels, dimes, quarters, etc. count AGAINST the goal. ( example: 1 penny = 1 point, 1 nickel = -5 points) All classroom jars will be in the school entrance. Put pennies in your jars and put other coins in the other classrooms’ jars to earn points for your room and take points away from the other classrooms! This is a fun competition to raise money for St. Judes, which offers life-saving medical care to children without cost for families in need. Collection jars will be in the school entrance until Wednesday, March 4 and the results shared on Friday, March 6. We will have a sweet treat reward for the winning classroom! Wednesday is School T-Shirt Day
We ask that all of our students wear their beige “SOAR” school theme t-shirts on Wednesday, February 25.
Chapel Service
School families are invited to join us for our monthly AFTERNOON school chapel service this Wednesday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m. Parents, family and friends are always welcome! This year’s chapel offering is supporting our church’s new ministry work in the country of Australia. Please pray for this ministry and the people it serves.

PARENTS’ NIGHT Home Basketball Games Friday, February 27
This Friday, February 27, are our PARENTS’ NIGHT Home Basketball Games vs St. Stephen Adrian. It’s COUNTRY-WESTERN NIGHT, so come ready to enjoy some great games and fun activities. Our 8th Graders will also be recognized with their parents and “sign the wall”.
The evening starts at 4:30 p.m. with a parents vs players C team basketball game. B Team will play at 5:30 p.m. and A Team at 6:30 p.m.
MLCS Bookmobile
The Monroe County Library System Bookmobile will be making its monthly visit Thursday, February 26 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The Bookmobile visits once per month to allow our students to check out selections from the Monroe County Library. Students will need a valid MCLS library card to check out books from the Bookmobile if they wish. Students are asked to please remember to bring your library card if you wish to check out books.

Warrior Oasis
The Zion Upper Grades “Warrior Oasis” are selling milk and juice options for lunches to students daily. Students in grades K-8 wanting to purchase milk or juice for lunch can do so across from the school library at the start of lunch hour, 11:45 to 11:55 a.m.
Drink items available: Horizon Organic Whole Milk $1.50 or Quik Chocolate Milk $1.25
Orange Juice (bottle) $1.00 Juicy Juice Boxes $0.50 (Apple, Fruit Punch, Grape, Berry)
Purchases are cash only. Profits will go towards the upper grade field trip fund.
Coffee with Friends!
The Warrior Oasis Cafe is open on TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS. After dropping off the kiddos, come enjoy a great cup of coffee or hot tea with fellow parents and friends before heading out for the day, or grab a cup to go. Coffee will be self-serve in the school entrance hallway on Tuesdays and served in the gym on Fridays. Coffee is served starting at 7:45 a.m. Cost is a free-will donation to the 7th-8th Field Trip Fund.
