Chapel Service
School families are invited to join us for our weekly morning school chapel service this Wednesday, April 9 at 8:05am. Parents, family and friends are always welcome!
A chapel mission offering is collected each week, and we encourage our families to take part. Our mission offering collection this year is designated to Branch Lutheran Schools of Haiti. Please remember this ministry and the children it serves in your gifts and prayers.
SMLAL Fine Arts Fair - Saturday, April 12
A number of our students will be competing in forensics, spelling, and quiz bowl competitions this Saturday at Hope Christian Academy in Westland from 9:30am-2pm. We will also have artwork from a number of our students in the Art competition as well. Our school family is welcome to attend. Participating students, we wish God’s blessings on your efforts!
Mother Daughter Tea - Sunday, April 13
There is still time to RSVP (by April 11) for the Zion Mother-Daughter Tea on Sunday, April 13 from 2-4pm in the Zion gymnasium. Informational flyers are available on the table in the school entrance.
Sports - Co-Ed Track
This year we will be holding our track practices during designated recesses in April and May for those in grades 3-8 who wish to participate. Mr. Ryan Roth has sent out an email to our grade 3-8 parents detailing our meet opportunities at the Ohio Schools Meet (grades 3-6) on Friday, May 2 and our usual SMLAL meet (grades 3-8) at Hope Christian Academy on Friday, May 16. See the emails or Mr. Roth for more information.
Note: Please respond to the email to let Mr. Roth know if your child will be able to participate in the Ohio School Meet as soon as possible. Student participation will determine whether or not we participate in the meet.
Round-Up Time
On Thursday, April 10, students moving on to new classrooms in the 2025-2026 school year will have the opportunity to visit their future rooms for a “Round-Up” during a portion of the school day.

Note: We accidentally left pizza for Friday, April 18 of our hot lunch order form. We will assume that students ordering pizza on April 11 also want pizza on April 18 and will duplicate that order. If your child does not want pizza on April 18, please email Amy Vanisacker at office@zionmonroe.org and let us know. Our apologies for the omission.
Caramel Corn Time!
The upper grades are selling Gordon’s Flavored Caramel Corn for their field trip fund. Check them out Tuesday and Thursday this week near the school entrance after school! Two sizes available - $8 for small, $12 for large - in a variety of flavors. Look for their popcorn cart when you come for student pick-up.
St. Paul’s Playgroup - Parents and Littles!
Parents and their toddler and preschool littles are invited to join the St. Paul’s Playgroup on Mondays at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on W. Albain from 8:30-10:30am. Kindergarten or younger along with their parents are welcome. Come for Christian fellowship with devotion, games, crafts and snacks. St. Paul’s is also hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, starting at 12pm..

Coffee with Friends!
The Warrior Oasis Cafe is open on TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS in the gym. After dropping off the kiddos, come enjoy a great cup of Kaladi’s coffee or hot tea with fellow parents and friends before heading out for the day, or grab a cup to go. Coffee is served starting at 7:45am. Cost is a free-will donation to the Upper Grade Field Trip Fund.
