Our School Year Theme: “Transformed”
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2
Thank you!
To all the students, parents and Zion members who participated in our Journey to the Cross event on Saturday. You shared the story of Jesus with over 75 attendees who took the journey. Thank you for being a blessing and sharing the Gospel!
Zion School Open House and Art and Literacy Night – Tuesday, April 1 from 5:30 to 7:00pm
This is an event for Zion students and families as well as guests. Introduce your interested friends and family to our school family! We will have our usual book exchange (we have lots of free books for kids and adults available! You can also bring in books you no longer want, to donate and share with others.) Following our school year theme, we will also have a number of insect-themed activities available for families to do together, and there will be pizza and refreshments!
School tours and enrollment information will also be available.
Do you or your family have books that you no longer need or have grown out of? Please bring them in to share for our book exchange any time before the open house, or bring them with you when you come on Tuesday!
Chapel Service
School families are invited to join us for our weekly morning school chapel service this Wednesday, April 2 at 8:05am. Parents, family and friends are always welcome!
A chapel mission offering is collected each week, and we encourage our families to take part. Our mission offering collection this year is designated to Branch Lutheran Schools of Haiti. Please remember this ministry and the children it serves in your gifts and prayers.
School Musical “ Are We There Yet?” Friday, April 4
This Friday is our Zion School Musical, “Are We There Yet?” The students have been putting in a lot of hard work, and we are excited to perform for our school family and friends. Our performance begins at 6:30pm , starting with our preschool opening act. Students should be at Zion by 5:45 p.m. to prepare.
For any grandparents or family that cannot make the evening performance, we will have an open dress rehearsal at 1pm on Friday that they are welcome to attend. (Please do not come to the dress rehearsal if you are coming to the evening performance.)
Students should bring their costumes (long t-shirts, shorts, and sandals/flip flops) to school by Wednesday of this week so that all our costumes are here for the performance. (See last week’s newsletter for specifics on t-shirts.)
Wednesday Night Lenten Supper - April 2
The school family is invited to a Lenten soup, salad and sandwich supper this Wednesday, April 2 from 5:30-6:30pm. The cost is a free-will donation. You are invited to join us for supper and welcome to stay to join us for Lenten Worship following at 7 p.m.
Hot Lunches this week…
Monday, March 31 - Shredded Beef Sandwiches
Wednesday, April 2 - Beef Stroganoff
Friday, April 4 - Pizza
Note: We accidentally left pizza for Friday, April 18 of our hot lunch order form. We will assume that students ordering pizza on April 11 also want pizza on April 18 and will duplicate that order. If your child does not want pizza on April 18, please email Amy Vanisacker at office@zionmonroe.org and let us know. Our apologies for the omission.

Kindergarten or younger along with their parents are welcome. Come for Christian fellowship with devotion, games, crafts and snacks.
